I made a wired ribbon flower – a chrysanthemum, I think. But a lone ribbon flower without purpose just sits in the stash – in a box, in the dark. It exists, unfulfilled. Fortunately, I have dolls. You can justify anything when you’re sewing for dolls. I had a flower, I had a doll, and in a few moments, I twisted a stem to make a handle, and I made another flower (a bud, this time) for the back of the purse. A scrap of silk was stitched into a little pink pocket, and in short order i had a wired ribbon flower purse from my American Girl doll.
Because every doll needs a handful of frou-frou when she goes to a party!
